Near Mount Olivet, it's the wind on the hill, so the edges and ridge get extra care.

Can you put a new roof over my old shingles?
We don't do overlays. The only way to do a roof right is to rip it and do it from scratch, because you can't check the deck through two layers of shingles. On older Maspeth houses, that deck is exactly where the problems are.
